Key duties include using tracking software to log items, applying appropriate cleaning methods, performing tasks like steaming and ironing, documenting progress, and packaging clean items for customer return. Successful candidates require attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to follow safety and infection control procedures.
- Item Handling:
- Inspect, sort, and process soiled linens and garments damaged by contaminants such as smoke, soot, water, and mold.
- Cleaning & Restoration:
- Apply specialized cleaning methods and chemicals to remove stains, odors, and contaminants from various types of fabric and soft goods.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate and monitor specialized restoration and laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, steamers, and ironing equipment.
- Documentation & Tracking:
- Use inventory management and tracking software to log items, document their condition before and after cleaning, and maintain detailed records.
- Finishing & Packaging:
- Perform finishing tasks like folding, pressing, steaming, and packaging the restored laundry for safe return to the customer.
- Customer Interaction:
- Explain the restoration process to customers and provide updates on job status.
- Safety & Cleanliness:
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and infection control procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attention to Detail: Essential for carefully inspecting items and applying the correct cleaning methods.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain specialized restoration equipment.
- Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication for documenting work and interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and applying appropriate solutions for various types of fabric damage.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for extended periods.
