Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Textile Restoration Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring a wide range of textile items, including drapes, rugs, bedding, pillows, regular laundry, dry cleaning, shoes, purses, and leathers after fire losses and water losses. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, have a keen eye for detail, and a desire to help our customers at their point of crisis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, assess, and clean textile items in need of restoration, ensuring proper handling, and following the care labels on the garments.
  • Collaborate with senior restoration specialists to determine appropriate restoration methods.
  • Maintain organization of items throughout the restoration process.
  • Monitor the condition of textiles throughout the restoration process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry best practices and safety standards.
Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in textile restoration, conservation, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with fragile and valuable textiles.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience following directions, especially care labels on garments.
Additional Skills/Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, with some evening or weekend shifts as needed.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and valuable textiles with care.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, or kneel for extended periods while working with textiles.
  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate restoration tasks.
  • Ability to lift light to moderate loads of textile materials when required.
